Mt. Annapurna 1
Mt. Annapurna 8,091m derived from a Sanskrit word which when broken down, would mean, "Sustenance" and "filled with". So the name would translate into "The Goddess rich in Sustenance" or simply "The Provider". It was first climbed by French expedition (M. Herzog & L. Lachenal) in 1950.
A french expedition led by Maurice Herzog explored the kali Gandaki valley in 1950. After deciding that Dhaulagiri was too difficult, they turned there attention to climbing Annapurna. There are four summits called Annapurna; the entire massif forms a barrier on the northern side of the pokhara Valley. The main summit stands to the west of the Annapurna Sanctuary. Fewer climbers have reached the summit of Annapurna than any other 8,000m peak in Nepal.

Kanchenjungha Basecamp
Mt. Kanchenjungha (8,585 m), also known as the “Five Treasures of Snow”, lies in east Nepal and is the third highest peak in the world. It forms a natural border between Nepal and India. The Kanchenjungha Base Camp trek gives us an experience of the remote nature of this region, views of majestic snow clad mountains, diverse flora and fauna and the rich local culture of the people inhabiting the lower parts of this area.
This trek is a non-technical one and is suitable for even the average trekker. If you are moderately fit and have a sense of adventure then you qualify. This trek is guaranteed to leave an indelible imprint on your mind for a long time to come.
The trek, which takes us to both the North and South Base Camps of Kanchenjunga starts with a flight from Kathmandu to Suketar (Taplejung) via the Terai town of Biratnagar. From Suketar the trail travels north to Chauki and through the villages of Mitlung, Amjilassa, Ghunsa, Khambachen and Lhonak to Pangpema (5,140 meters), the Base Camp for expeditions attempting the North Face of Kanchenjunga and the culmination of the first part of the trek. En route, we get to enjoy panoramic views of Makalu (8,463 m) and Chamlang (7,319 m) peaks, a sea of unclimbed peaks, including Jannu (7,710 m), from Ghunsa and, finally, Kanchenjungha, Wedge Peak (6,750 m) the Twins (7,350 m), Pyramid Peak (7,168 m) and Tent Peak (7,365 m) from a vantage point situated a little above Pangpema.

After having had your fill of the mountain vista, you begin your descent through villages and farmlands back to Suketar for your flight back to Kathmandu.

Dhaulagiri Expedition 2017
Mt. Dhaulagiri, the White Mountain was first climbed by the Swiss in 1960. its name is derived from Sanskrit ’dhavala- means white’ and giri is mountain’ The White Mountain. It is an enormous Himalaya massif located in the North Central Nepal. It was first sighted by the British surveyors in India in the early 1800s and it remained as highest peak in the world till 1848 AD.
Later it was mapped by one of the secret Indian surveyors in 1873 AD. But the region remained largely unknown until a Swiss aerial survey in 1949. The French Annapurna Expedition, led by Mr Herzog in 1950, had permission to climb either Dhaulagiri or Annapurna but decided on Annapurna after a reconnaissance of Dhaulagiri. A Swiss team failed to climb in 1953 as did an Argentine group one year later.
After four more expeditions, an eight member of a Swiss expedition reached the summit in 1960. The climb followed a circuitous route around the mountain from Tukuche, over Dhampus pass, French col to approach the summit from the North’ East col. The peak was then climbed by two Japanese in 1970s, the American in 1973 and the Italians in 1976.

Baruntse Expedition
Cho Oyu Trekking offers you Mt. Baruntse Expedition. It is a high mountain climbing. Mt. Baruntse lies at the center of three glacier valleys, the Imja, Hunku, Barun and above the east and west Col, in front of Mt. Makalu. The peak standing majestically in the center of some highest peaks of the Himalaya like Makalu, Lhotse and Nupse offers a rewarding climbing experience. This peak is technically not so demanding, as compared to Amadablam and Pumori, though it offers a good experience of snow and ice climb with some ice cliff obstacle. The Baruntse base camp is at an altitude of around 5400m. Nearby are the pristine lakes below Amphu Labtsa pass. The climbing route follows a long ridge leading to the steep summit.
It is said that it was first ascended by Colin Todd and Geoff Harrow from its south - East Ridge on 30 May 1954. Since then many climbers have made successful ascend on this peak. Mt. Baruntse is conserved by the Makalu Barun National Park, therefore there are many rare animals, birds and outstanding natural beauty and various kinds of flora and fauna. Mt. Baruntse is one of the beautiful snow peaks in Nepal. It is also one of the few peaks of this height with a high success rate in making summit.
With its incredible views and location, Baruntse is certain to be a rewarding adventure for any climber wishing to surpass the 7000 meter zone. Those, whose ultimate desire is to pursuer 8000 meter peaks, may consider this climb the ideal preparation for 8000 meter goals.

Mt. Lhotse Expedition 2017
Mt. Lhotse is the fourth highest mountain on Earth and is connected to Everest via the South Col. Mt. Lhotse lies about 3 km south of Mount Everest, separated by the South Col. In fact, Lhotse means South Face. Three peaks that make up the Lhotse massif are: Lhotse East or middle, Lhotse Shar and Lhotse. Immediately south of Mount Everest lies the long east-west crest, and the summits of the two mountains are connected by the South Col. South Face of Lhotse is the most technical face of Lhotse. The Lhotse South Face is also one of the largest mountain faces in the world. The section during the climb, which has been unanimously declared the most dangerous, is the Khumbu Icefall. Both Mt Everest and Lhotse share the same base camp. In fact, Lhotse is a part of Everest massif itself.
However, Lhotse is considered to be an independent mountain. After several unsuccessful attempts, the Lhotse South Face was successful climbed only in 1984 by a Czech expedition team. This beautiful massif also holds immense promise as it is little developed and offers fascinating opportunities. Lhotse can be climbed either from Everest Base Camp or nearby Chhukung.

Mt. Cho Oyu Expedition
Cho Oyu, first attempted by the Austrian team of mountaineers via Tibet route in 1954, has only been gaining popularity since recently. Cho Oyu (8201 meters), the sixth highest mountain in the world is one of the easiest to climb among the other 8,000 meter high mountains. The south face of Cho Oyu, facing Nepal is steep and challenging, hence it’s rarely attempted. While, the north side of the mountain from Tibet side is relatively moderate, and has a safe route to the mountain as well. As a result, most of the Cho Oyu expedition is made via Tibet side due to the easier access and technique as discussed earlier.
